PERSONAL EVANGELISM SEMINAR

William P. Wilson MD
Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry
Duke University Medical Center
Distinguished Professor of Counseling
Carolina Evangelical Divinity School

There has been an emphasis in the evangelical world of late on the priesthood of every believer and Market Place Evangelism. The latter is a form of evangelism, but it is not the same as what I call personal evangelism. Recently as I was reading Decision magazine the Lord convinced me that my retirement career is to teach personal evangelism.

I have both the educational and experiential credentials to do this. During the last 40 years I led 98 evangelical lay witness missions. I preached in lay evangelical crusades. I also preached evangelical sermons in local churches all over the US and in 15 foreign countries. I have done one-on-one evangelism in my practice and in public venues.

The result of these evangelical efforts is that thousands came to the Lord as a result of the lay witness team effort. My preaching resulted in hundreds giving their lives to Christ. I have also lead hundreds to Christ in my office, on airplanes and in other places. Finally, I taught hundreds how to counsel over the telephone and how to witness to people if it was indicated as part of their counsel.

My educational credentials are extensive. I attended both the basic and advanced BEGA evangelism schools. I attended the first Lausanne Congress on Evangelism in Switzerland. I attended seven United Methodist congresses on evangelism and also attended a number of workshops. I have read a number of books on evangelism; most notable is Michael Green's Evangelism in the Early Church. I also taught at 12 Medical Evangelism Training Strategies (METS) schools on such subjects as "A Passion for Souls," "The Holy Spirit and Evangelism" and "How to Witness."  I mentored students in their practicum. The METS schools are basically Campus Crusade seminars. The medical students and physicians were very grateful for my contributions and found them useful.

I believe I am qualified to offer a seminar on personal evangelism. The curriculum I have devised takes three sessions; they last for up to 1 and a half hours each. I can give them any day of the week at any hour of the day except before 9 AM and after 10 PM. I can do them in a block, over a weekend or weekly. There are two didactic and one role-play sessions.

If you are interested, this is a good follow-up on an empowerment seminar and should follow such an offering. I am also available to do the empowerment seminar at any time as well. I can do the empowerment seminar in one session combined with the others on evangelism.

Honoraria are not expected, but are appreciated.

If you are interested give me a call at 919-286-9736 (home) or 919-812-3822 (cell); or write to:
